After more than 20 years of practicing the craft of photography, I've put together my first photo book project - The Colour of Resistance: Photographs from the 59th Toronto Caribbean Carnival.
For the past three seasons, I’ve had the privilege of partnering with the Toronto Caribbean Carnival organization, photographing and documenting the events and culture that surround the festival. During that time, I’ve had the honour of connecting with a kind and generous community of people from all walks of life. This book is a curated selection of photographs from this year’s festival (2026), telling the story of those who work behind the scenes and participate to help make Carnival a resounding success. As we look toward the festival’s 60th anniversary, I hope this work serves as a meaningful time capsule and a reflection of our collective progress and future aspirations.
